Tango set for redemption bid
Green Tango is all set to atone for his early departure in the William Hill Gold Cup with an appearance in the Carey Group Handicap Chase at Ascot on Saturday.
Henry Daly’s useful chaser was fancied to go close at Exeter only to fall at the third fence.
He also holds an entry in the Grade Two Amlin 1965 Chase on the same card over nearly two and a half miles, but Daly is likely to opt for the shorter trip of the handicap.
“I think Green Tango will probably run in the two-mile-one race,” said Daly.
“I think he is better suited by that trip. I’m not 100% convinced that he is but I think he could be better over two mile one rather than two mile three.
“It was so annoying that he fell so early at Exeter as it was such a waste of time for everyone involved. The owners, people who look after him, just everyone involved, it was so frustrating,” Daly told At The Races.
“I thought I’d never see him fall so it just goes to show what I know!”
