ISEQ up, CRH climbing

CRH was the morning’s biggest gainer, up 41c (1.5%) at €27.86.
Bank of Ireland gained 17c (1.1%) to €15.94. Up to 500 workers at the bank were due to strike today over a pensions row.
Irish Life and Permanent was up 11c at €19.31. Anglo Irish Bank, the morning’s busiest share, gained 11c to €14.31.
Allied Irish Bank rose 3c to €21.48.
Food company C&C was up 11c at €11.80.
Waterford Wedgwood was unchanged at €0.07, despite announcing a return to positive earnings for the six months to September 30.
