Bosses charged over Upton Park incident
Arsene Wenger and Alan Pardew have both been charged with “improper conduct” by the Football Association following their touch-line bust-up at Upton Park.
The two bosses had to be separated following Marlon Harewood’s late winner for the home side on Sunday, following celebrations by the West Ham coach in the technical area.
French coach Wenger refused to shake his rival’s hand at the end of the match, and left without speaking to the press.
Pardew has since apologised, with the League Managers’ Association set to attempt mediation.
The FA has decided there is a case to answer.
“West Ham United manager Alan Pardew and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger have both been charged with improper conduct,” a statement on www.thefa.com read.
“The charges relate to their alleged aggressive and confrontational behaviour towards the end of the match at Upton Park on Sunday, November 5.
“They have until November 23 to respond.”
