Sniper damages vehicles and homes in Cork
25/10/2006 - 13:05:08Properties and vehicles across Co Cork have been damaged by a sniper with a high-powered gun or catapult, it emerged today.
Gardaí are hunting those responsible for firing a number of shots in the Kinsale area between 1pm and 2.45pm yesterday.
A house in Kinsale, a house and school bus in Innishannon, and a four-wheel drive on the Bandon Road were among the properties damaged during the rampage.
Plate glass windows at the front of the Trident Hotel were also fired at.
It is understood damage was also caused to glass on the front door of a number of houses in Crosshaven, Carrigaline and in Togher in Cork City.
A garda spokesman said enquiries are ongoing and that no arrests have yet been made.
