New campaign aims to eradicate homelessness by 2010

Four organisations have joined forces to launch a new initiative aimed at ending homelessness by 2010.

Focus Ireland, the Simon Community, St Vincent de Paul and Threshold are urging the public to get involved in the Make Room Campaign.

They want the Government to provide more social housing and other options for people trying to break out of the homeless cycle.

Between 5,000 and 6,000 people are homeless in Ireland.
