Gardaí investigating assault on Galway schoolgirl
20/10/2006 - 19:48:45Gardaí have launched an investigation into an assault on a schoolgirl in Co Galway.
The fifteen-year-old was waiting for the bus in Clifden this morning when a motorist got out of his car, slapped her on the face and drove off.
The girl who was physically uninjured apparently didn't know the culprit.
Superintendent Noel Kelly was mystified by the attack.
"I would class it as bizarre because there was no reason for it and it happened totally out of the blue. The young girl has given us a good description of the culprit but she has never seen the person before," he said.
