Cullen to announce route of Dublin’s metro
19/10/2006 - 07:41:53Minister for Transport Martin Cullen is due to announce the route for Dublin's proposed metro line later this morning.
Three potential routes have been the subject of a public consultation process for the past few months.
The metro line will run from St Stephen's Green to Dublin Airport and Swords and is expected to link up with LUAS, bus, rail and park-and-ride services.
The Department of Transport says it will remove 40,000 cars from the streets of the city every day, will run every 90 seconds and carry 80,000 passengers a day when it is operational in 2012.
