Police continue questioning men after drugs seizure
13/10/2006 - 07:03:36Gardaí were today continuing to question two men following the seizure of 20kg of cannabis resin and a small quantity of cocaine in Clonmel.
The haul was discovered yesterday during a planned search of a house in the town at 3.30pm.
The seizure, depending on the result of a forensic analysis, may have a potential street value of up to €160,000.
Two men, aged 48 years and 17 years respectively, were arrested under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
They are being detained in Clonmel garda station where they can be held for up to seven days.
“The seizure is part of an ongoing operation in the Clonmel area,” a garda spokesman added.
