Missing woman’s family appeals for information

The family of a 35-year-old woman who has been missing for almost two weeks have appealed for anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.

Margaret 'Meg' Walsh, a native of Co Cork, disappeared from her home in the Ballinakill Downs are of Waterford on Sunday, October 1st.

Her car was found abandoned two days later, while a blood-stained mat from the vehicle was also discovered dumped nearby.

Gardaí have confirmed that the blood was that of Ms Walsh, who is understood to have expressed concerns for her safety in the days before her disappearance.

More than 100 volunteers have been helping the Gardai and the army in the search for the 35-year-old.

Speaking at a press conference in Waterford today, her daughter Sasha Keating and brother James Walsh told the media that her disappearance was out of character.

Ms Walsh's husband, John O'Brien, was not present at the conference.
