80-year-old woman assaulted in Armagh robbery

An 80-year-old woman is recovering today after she was attacked during a robbery at her home in Co Armagh yesterday afternoon.

The victim suffered minor injuries when three young men forced their way into her home on Tassagh Road near Keady.

They assaulted her and ransacked her house before fleeing with what a local SDLP councillor says was a relatively small sum of money.

Thomas O'Hanlon said the burglars waited until the woman's husband and son had left the house and the pensioner was very traumatised by the ordeal.
