Diamond to stand in Ireland
08/10/2006 - 12:19:15Diamond Green, runner up in the French 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes two years ago, has been bought to stand at Ballyhane Stud in Ireland.
Joe Foley has acquired the five-year-old, who is currently in training with Bobby Frankel in America, to stand at his County Carlow-based operation for the 2007 breeding season.
Foley said: “We have had a great response to him so far and he looks set to be owned by a very powerful syndicate including some of the leading European breeders such as Barouche Stud, purchasers of the top-priced yearling in Europe this year.”
Unbeaten as a juvenile in Europe, Diamond Green was last seen finishing sixth in the Woodbine Mile last month.
