Aer Lingus declines to comment on Ryanair takeover bid
05/10/2006 - 12:30:36Aer Lingus has declined to comment on this morning's announcement by Ryanair that it is planning a takeover bid for the national airline.
Ryanair said this morning that it had already acquired 16% of shares in Aer Lingus and was offering €2.80 per share for the remainder.
A spokesman for Aer Lingus said the airline was considering the development, but was not in a position to make any further comment.
