ISEQ jumps 45.30 points

The ISEQ climbed into positive territory this morning jumping 45.30 points to 8210.72 on foot of news that business activity in the services sector has now risen each month since June 2003.

New business volumes have also risen each month since June 2003, with over 40% of firms seeing a rise in new orders since August.

The positive news has rubbed off elsewhere as the financials gain ground again today AIB climbed 1c this morning to €20.49 while Anglo Irish Bank is up 11c to €13.07.

Close at its heel Bank of Ireland made an increase of 10c to €15.33 while IL&P levelled off with no change at €19.70.

The ISEQ listed airlines gave investors something to talk about with gains for both Aer Lingus and Ryanair climbing 16c and 5c to €8.55 and €2.50 respectively.

The budget airline Ryanair was buoyed by September passenger count up 17%.
