ISEQ in bullish form
04/10/2006 - 17:50:01The ISEQ index of Irish shares was in bullish mood today, buoyed by news that the construction sector is set to slow gradually over the next two years, but the overall result is that it will still remain a key component of the Irish economy.
Unsurprisingly, the construction sector made very positive gains today.
McInerney Holdings rose 24c to €13.01, Kingspan rose 26c to €16.36 and CRH gained 17c to €26.90.
Elsewhere, the financial heavyweights all performed very strongly today.
Anglo Irish Bank rose 29c to €13.25, AIB gained 17c to €20.65, Irish Life and Permanent was up 31c to €20.01 while Bank of Ireland rose 23c to €15.46.
