Israel set to withdraw from Lebanon
30/09/2006 - 18:53:41The Israeli army is preparing to complete its withdrawal from Lebanon by tomorrow morning, defence officials say.
The pullout would meet a key condition of the August 14 UN-brokered ceasefire that ended more than a month of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas.
The officials said the army was preparing to complete the withdrawal overnight, but said the plans could change depending on conditions on the ground.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to discuss the matter with the media.
