Hammond leaves Leeds Hospital after 300mph crash
28/09/2006 - 10:54:31British television presenter Richard Hammond has been discharged from the specialist hospital in Leeds where he was being treated for a serious brain injury following his high-speed car crash.
The 36-year-old Top Gear presenter was filming for the new series of the show when the 300mph dragster he was driving crashed at an airfield in York just over a week ago.
Doctors say he has been making an amazing recovery and is being moved today from Leeds General Infirmary to another hospital to be closer to his family.
