Mulgrew to remain in Fermanagh hot seat

28/09/2006 - 12:56:40
Fermanagh manager Charlie Mulgrew will have another three years to try and deliver the county's first ever All-Ireland SFC title.

The Donegal man has been re-appointed as the Ernesiders boss, having impressed the County Board sufficiently since taking over from Dom Corrigan in January 2004.

Mulgrew's first season in charge saw the Erne men reach an All-Ireland semi-final, but this year his native county dashed his hopes in the final round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

2006 will still be marked down as a successful year for Fermanagh, who retained their Division One status in the National League.

As a player, Mulgrew was known for his winning mentality - he claimed three Ulster titles with Donegal and was part of the 1992 All-Ireland-winning panel.

As with all of Fermanagh's managerial positions, Mulgrew will still undergo a review after next year's championship in order to hold onto his job.
