Callan hit by ban

Neil Callan has been handed a 15-day suspension, three of which have been deferred for six months, under the ‘totting up’ procedure.

Callan was found guilty of interference aboard St Petersburg in the totescoop6 Ayrshire Handicap Stakes at Ayr on September 16.

The local stewards referred the matter to the Horseracing Regulatory Authority’s disciplinary panel as Callan had been suspended from riding for 20 days in the previous 12 months.

Callan will be out of action for 12 days from October 6.
