Irishman critical after attempted murder-suicide in US
27/09/2006 - 07:40:11A 52-year-old Irishman is in a critical condition in the United States after shooting his wife dead and then turning the gun on himself.
James Reid, a native of Dublin who had been living in Meath, is currently on a life-support machine at a Florida hospital.
His wife, Stacey Jane Plummer, from St Petersburg in Florida, was found shot dead at her $1.9m (€1.5m) home on Sunday.
Police are treating the incident as murder and attempted suicide.
