Dunelight has dual options

20/09/2006 - 09:21:39
Dunelight could tackle either the totesport Cambridgeshire or a Listed event in France after his narrow defeat at the Curragh last Sunday.

The three-year-old was a half-length third behind Ivan Denisovich in a Listed event, leaving trainer Clive Cox with a difficult decision on the colt’s next target.

Cox is looking at the Prix le Fabuleux as well as the first leg of the autumn double on 30 September.

He said: “It was a massive run (at the Curragh) and that is backed up by the fact that although most of the times were slow, his race was two seconds faster than the average.

“On what he achieved the other day he would look like a good thing for the Cambridgeshire.

“He got home well, and he’s come out of it well, while he’d be competing off his old mark of 105.

“However, I won the French race with Lago d’Orta and that in itself is a nice prize. I really am sitting on the fence at the moment.”
