SIPTU seeks clarification of business plan for Aer Lingus

20/09/2006 - 08:33:31
SIPTU has sought clarification of a number of issues related to the part-privatisation of the airline.

The move follows a decision by workers in three sections of the airline to reject the business plan drawn up by management for the period after the sale.

SIPTU had recommended that the workers accept the plan, but under the union's rules, it cannot be accepted unless all sections are in favour.

A spokesperson said this morning that the three sections which rejected the document did so because of undisclosed "local issues".

Aer Lingus management met SIPTU officials last night to clarify a number of details of the business plan and these clarifications are due to be put to members of staff later today.
