Labour backs campaign to save Tallaght children’s hospital

The Labour Party has added its voice to a campaign to save paediatric services at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.

The Health Service Executive is currently in the process of merging Dublin's three children's hospitals into one new campus alongside the Mater Hospital.

However, Labour leader Pat Rabbitte has said he believes two separate hospitals are warranted, one on the northside of the city at the Mater and the other on the southside in Tallaght.

He says removing paediatric services from Tallaght would be a huge blow to the region, which has a large population of young children.
