IMF expresses further concern about Irish housing market

The International Monetary Fund has issued another warning about the risks of a collapse in Irish house prices.

The warning is contained in the body's latest bi-annual report on the state of the global economy.

The document expresses caution about the housing markets in Ireland, Britain, Spain and the United States, saying they are overvalued.

The Central Bank has been issuing similar warnings about the Irish housing market for some time, but most economists say they expect a slowdown in prices rather than any major collapse.
