Ameobi facing fitness test
13/09/2006 - 10:10:00Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder will make a late check on striker Shola Ameobi before naming his side to face Levadia Tallinn in the UEFA Cup tomorrow night.
Ameobi has been struggling for some time with a hip injury and is likely to be replaced by recent acquisition Antoine Sibierski if he does not make it, with loan signing Giuseppe Rossi ineligible.
Nolberto Solano and Steven Taylor did not travel because of hamstring and foot injuries, respectively, while Celestine Babayaro continues his recovery from a hamstring strain and Olivier Bernard is short of match fitness.
