13/09/2006 - 08:52:27
Gardaí were today quizzing a 26-year-old man following an armed robbery at a supermarket in West Dublin.

Two men, armed with a handgun and a knife, entered the Superquinn premises in Tyrellstown and held up staff at around 9pm last night.

The pair escaped with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

Gardaí responding to the incident later seized a car and arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with their investigation.

“The 26-year-old is detained at Blanchardstown garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939,” a Garda spokesman said.
