Support group seeks measures to help broken families

A leading support group for single-parent families is seeking budgetary measures to support families that experience breakdown.

The One Family organisation is making the call in a submission to the Government ahead of this December's Budget.

It says it wants to see new measures in the area of access to children, including the establishment of "child contact centres" allowing estranged parents to meet up with their children in the event of a break-up.
