Speculation mounts about Sanchez’s future with NI
08/09/2006 - 10:37:10Speculation is mounting that Lawrie Sanchez is on the verge of quitting as manager of Northern Ireland.
The Irish Football Association held crisis talks last night to discuss the matter follow reports that the Sanchez was set to resign following Wednesday's shock win over Spain.
The 46-year-old left the ground immediately after the game and failed to show up at the post-match press conference.
He is attending a family funeral in England and the IFA says it has been unable to contact him since the Windsor Park tie.
The association is hoping Sanchez will see out the remainder of his contract, which expires at the end of the European Championships.
