Gold medal for Ballymena in Paralympics
08/09/2006 - 14:32:50Michael McKillop from Ballymena won the gold medal in the men's 800m T37 class at the Paralympic World Athletics Championships in Holland today.
In a tense and exciting final, the 16 year old sensation broke from the main field with 150 meters to go, winning the race in a new world record time of 2.02.13 minutes, taking four tenths of a second off the previous mark.
