Strike action averted at UCD
08/09/2006 - 16:05:14Strike action has been averted at one of the country's top universities.
SIPTU has reached an agreement with UCD over contracts for their members who work at the college.
It follows a threat from UCD that a number of staff - including tutors - were to lose their jobs this term.
The college has now agreed to give the majority of these workers permanent contracts.
The situation will be reviewed in two months.
