Man killed in collision with vehicle on Mayo road

A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle on the main road between Claremorris and Ballyhaunis in Co Mayo this morning.

The man is believed to have been crossing the road at the time of the accident, which happened at around 8am in the Ballygowan Bridge area.

Gardaí are withholding his name until all next of kin are informed.
