ISEQ ends week on a low

The ISEQ index of shares failed to recover from a torrid morning session as it ended the day down 51.44 at 7966.58.

The financials reflected the overall mood, with Irish Life & Permanent faring worst as it slid 22c to €18.98.

Allied Irish Bank dropped back 20c to €20.10, whilst Bank of Ireland was down 8c to €14.57. Anglo Irish fell back 10c to fall to €12.45.

FBD was the biggest faller of the day (down 49c to €38), closely followed by the Kerry Group which crashed 38c to €17.04. CRH fell to €26.55 after a 25c fall.

Any gains made were insignificant, with C&C (up 12c to €10.37) and Ryanair (up 5c to €7.73) cases in point.
