INO to discuss pay campaign at annual conference
01/09/2006 - 08:00:20Nurses from across the country are converging on Croke Park this morning for their annual conference.
They are expected to discuss their on-going campaign for better pay and a 35-hour working week.
The new social partnership deal is also on the agenda.
Delegates are insisting that if their demands for better pay and conditions are not considered, they will not back "Towards 2016".
INO General Secretary Liam Doran said that that nurses and midwives were out of patience as the pay issue is now over 20 years old.
He also said; “That social partnership agreement (Towards 2016) will not be allowed to thwart the conclusion and completion of our pay campaign, addressing issues which are over 20 years old.”
