UK chemicals firm Croda International completes takeover

Chemicals firm Croda International, which is based in Goole, East Yorkshire, has completed the £410m (€608.5m) acquisition of Uniqema from ICI.

Uniqema, which makes ingredients for consumer products such as suncream, is Netherlands-based but has 380 staff at a sales and manufacturing site in England's Teesside, as well as a further 130 people at Bromborough, Merseyside.

ICI, which makes Dulux paint, put the business up for sale in February after deciding it could use the proceeds to invest in other parts of its operation.
