ISEQ buoyed by C&C successful summer
The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week on a high note, finishing up 47.02 points to 8092.07 in the wake of a successful summer for drinks and snacks company C&C.
The good weather in Ireland buoyed sales of C&C's Bulmers while sales of the UK brand Magners underpinned a 25% jump in turnover at the company.
The group, which recorder a 90c rise in shares today to €10.90, said it expects to see a 4% increase in overall operating margin, even after it increased its marketing spend.
Meanwhile most of the main financial movers posted gains today - Anglo Irish Bank rose 20c to €13.10 and Irish Life and Permanent gained 22c to €20.32.
However, Bank of Ireland was down 2c to €14.78 while AIB kept an even keel.
Elsewhere, the building materials group CRH rose 32c to €27.39 maintaining a steady growth rate throughout the week. Grafton building group followed closely with a 22c rise to €10.90.
