Charity calls for property developers to donate sites
01/09/2006 - 11:17:29A charity is calling on property developers to donate sites to raise €20m for Africa.
The Builders for Africa scheme is looking for volunteers to build 100 houses throughout the country.
Once a site is donated, local tradesmen and women will volunteer their time to build a house on it using materials donated by local builders and suppliers.
The money raised from the houses' sale would be used by NMTI (Niall Mellon Townships Initiatives) to construct homes for shack dwellers in Africa.
One house in Corraun Village is already nearing completion.
