Wexford step up search for hurling manager
The Wexford County Board have stepped up their search to find a replacement for Seamus Murphy, who recently stepped down as manager of the county's senior hurlers.
Monday night's Board meeting saw a special committee put in place to find a new manager.
A four-man committee, comprising of former hurler Tony Doran, Bernie Radford (St. Martin's), Toss Ryan (St. Anne's) and Ger Doyle (Oulart-the-Ballagh), will begin the search along with County Board chairman Sean Quirke and secretary Michael Kinsella.
The committee are expected to meet in the coming days to agree on list of potential candidates with some County Board members adamant that the search for a new man should not be confined to the Wexford border.
The Model county are also on the look-out for a new U21 hurling manager and selectors.
Meanwhile, football in Wexford has received a boost with the Board's decision to enter a team in next year's Leinster junior football championship.
