100,000 women per year seeking emergency contraception
27/08/2006 - 13:52:35More than 8,000 Irish women visit surgeries and clinics every month to avail of emergency contraception, a new report has revealed today.
The figures from International Medical Statistics reveal that more than 100,000 women seek the morning after pill per year in this country.
The report, published in today’s Sunday Independent, indicated that the high figures are likely to spark a debate on the possibility of over-the-counter emergency contraception.
