EU hopes to see Lebanon reinforcements within week

The foreign minister of Finland, which holds the European Union presidency, today said he was hopeful the first reinforcements to a UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon would arrive “within a week”.

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja said that time was “crucial” and that he hoped to see the “first reinforcements within a week”, if possible, with more arriving within a few weeks.
