Body of drowned British woman found in Thailand
24/08/2006 - 13:54:50A search-and-rescue team today found the body of a 22-year-old British woman who went missing earlier this month during a whitewater rafting trip in Thailand.
Shenaz Kapoor, a student from Dundee, was whitewater rafting in the jungle in southern Phang Nga province on August 15 when a flash flood hit the area, causing the raft to capsize, said police Lieutenant Colonel Pathipan Wisal.
The search-and-rescue team found her body today, trapped under a rock underwater, he said, adding that the team was now trying to retrieve the body.
Phang Nga is a popular tourist area about 400 miles south of Bangkok.
