Model Penny snaps celebrity pets
24/08/2006 - 07:37:21Penny Lancaster has swapped her usual place in front of the camera for a spot behind it to snap celebrities and their pets.
She has been taking the pictures for a charity calendar launched today, her first assignment since the birth of her son Alastair.
The calendar features the likes of Elton John, Simon Cowell, Lulu and Penny’s rocker fiancé Rod Stewart.
Most of the celebrities were photographed by Penny in their own homes.
The model, who trained in photography, said: “I knew what it was like to be that person sitting in front of the camera, the nerves that you can have and that awkwardness you can feel, so I tried to make every person feel relaxed.”
The PDSA (People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals) “Pet Pawtraits” will go on display at the Mall Galleries in London today.
