Fyffes and financials keep ISEQ on the up

The ISEQ index of Irish shares rose 14.04 points to stand at 7793.49 at 10.30am today.

Fyffes gained 3c (2%) to €1.49.

Anglo Irish Bank was the morning’s busiest share. It was up 15c (1.2%) at €12.30.

Irish Life and Permanent slipped 10c to €18.85. Bank of Ireland was up 3c at €14.90.

Allied Irish Bank dropped 1c to €20.14, following news that the bank plans to sell and lease back 12 of its Dublin branches.

Financial services company IFG was up 1c at €1.99. Operating profits for the first half of the year were up on the same period last year, it was announced this morning.

CRH gained 30c (1.2%) to €25.80.

Paddy Power was down 5c to €13.65. British rival Ladbrokes today said that this year’s World Cup was the biggest betting event in its history.
