British troops kill nine in Afghanistan
22/08/2006 - 09:32:44British troops killed nine suspected insurgents in southern Afghanistan, a military spokesman said today.
The troops targeted the militants with high explosive ammunition in Naw Zad district of the southern Helmand province yesterday, said Maj. Toby Jackman, a spokesman for the Nato-led force.
There were no British casualties in the clash, he said.
