Albion agree fee for Phillips
22/08/2006 - 14:53:41West Brom are to open talks with Kevin Phillips after having a bid accepted for the Aston Villa striker.
Coca-Cola Championship rivals Sunderland are also interested in luring the 33-year-old back to the Stadium of Light after they also agreed a fee with Villa.
Baggies boss Bryan Robson told the club’s official website, www.wba.co.uk: “It’s up to me to convince Kevin Phillips that the best step for him in his career is to come to West Brom and be up for the challenge here.
“As far as I know I think the lad has moved into a new house in the midlands area so he wouldn’t have to move house or move his family again. We’ve got a good chance of convincing him West Brom is the next step for him.”
