Sea patrols 'causing stress, low morale' in Naval Service
22/08/2006 - 12:15:18Members of the Naval Service are suffering from high levels of stress and low morale due to the time they spend away from their families, according to their representative group PDFORRA.
In a report published today, the organisation says many members of the service are growing disenchanted due to the effects of long-term sea patrols on them and their families.
PDFORRA general secretary Gerry Rooney says the situation is resulting in many members leaving the naval service.
He said they had no confidence in Naval Service management to resolve issues surrounding the effects caused by sea patrols.
