'Irish-based' Muslim couple released without charge

22/08/2006 - 14:30:49
Police in Wales have released two Muslims believed to be living in Dublin who were arrested at Holyhead earlier this month as part of an anti-terrorism operation.

The man and woman were detained on August 11, but the police said today that they had been released without charge "after careful consideration of the existing evidence".

Reports yesterday said the couple were detained after the woman was found to be in possession of a laptop computer containing instructions on how to make bombs and a manual for modern guerrilla warfare.

She is believed to be living in a house in the Clondalkin area of Dublin, while her partner spends most of his time in England.

The couple are both in their 40s and originally from Algeria.
