Dublin Airport sees busiest-ever month
21/08/2006 - 17:29:13July was the busiest ever month at Dublin Airport with more than 2.2 million passengers passing through, it was revealed today.
More people have travelled through the airport this year than in 1999.
Figures showed 2,276,628 passengers flew in or out of Dublin a 15% increase on July 2005.
A spokeswoman for Dublin Airport said July was traditionally one of the strongest growing and busiest months of the year but the volume of passengers handled exceeded all previous records.
Year to date passenger traffic between January and July 2006 is 15% up on last year with 12.07 million passengers – the same number of passengers that travelled through the airport in 1999.
