Zamora double for West Ham

19/08/2006 - 17:06:30
West Ham 3 Charlton 1

Two second-half goals from Bobby Zamora helped West Ham to a deserved victory over 10-man Charlton at Upton Park.

West Ham had trailed to a Darren Bent penalty after 14 minutes but were boosted by the dismissal of Charlton debutant Djimi Traore for a second bookable offence 12 minutes later.

But Zamora made it a disappointing afternoon for Charlton’s new manager and former West Ham player Iain Dowie by scoring in the 51st and 65th minutes before substitute Carlton Cole added a third with his first touch in the dying seconds.
