Ryanair criticised for threatening to sue British govt
19/08/2006 - 10:43:39Ryanair's threat to sue the British government for lost revenues following the security clampdown in UK airports has come in for criticism.
Passengers are still experiencing delays in airports across the Britain, as strict measures remain in place following the alleged terror plot to blow up planes.
The British government has ruled out any imminent return to "normal" checks.
Conservative MP Lee Scott from the Transport Select Committee, said Ryanair's ultimatum to have airports operating as normal by next week was not helping the situation.
"It's saying to the British Airport Authorities and indeed to the government that they must get this right in a week. The only thing that must be put right is passenger safety, which is paramount."
