Dubs make two changes for camogie final
Reigning champions Dublin have made two changes to their side for Saturday's All-Ireland Junior camogie final against Derry in Tullamore (throw-in 4.30pm).
Manager Peter Lucey has brought Skerries Harps defender Jean Murphy in at left corner back, with Elaine Ryan making way from the side that beat Clare 2-12 to 1-12 in the semi-finals. 2005 All-Star Ciara Lucey is listed at full-back.
The other change is up front as Aisling Jordan from St. Vincent's, who came on as a substitute against Clare, start at left corner forward - her club mate Muireann O'Gorman drops to the bench.
Derry captain Clare Doherty, who was part of the last Oak Leaf team to win the Junior championship in 2000, relayed the disappointment of her team mates on finding out that this year's decider will not be played at Croke Park.
She said: "The girls were very downbeat that the final had been taken out of Croke Park. Every person’s dream is to get to play there, I suppose.
"I have been lucky to have played there myself but I would love to get another run out on that famous pitch.
"These decisions are taken out of our hands and we have to go with what is there. An All-Ireland medal is an All-Ireland medal and we will play it at whatever venue and whatever time.”
