Gardaí tackle crime on Liffey boardwalk

Gardaí in Dublin have made almost 50 arrests in the first two months of an operation to tackle anti-social behaviour on Dublin's Liffey boardwalk.

Gardaí mounted a crackdown on drug-dealing and alcohol consumption on the boardwalk in April and say they arrested 46 people during the first two months of the operation.

A number of agencies working with the homeless and those with addiction problems are due to meet today to discuss the matter, which some are blaming on a lack of day-care centres for homeless people.
